Thanks to a partnership agreement with the Soprintendenza Archeologia per la Toscana, Icar presents online all the 325 drawings (watercolours, tracing copies, facsimiles) that Augusto Guido Gatti executed of Etruscan funerary painting, in the first quarter of the 20th century, for the Galleria della pittura etrusca in facsimile of the Archaeological Museum of Florence. This corpus is the subject of a publication by Lucrezia Cuniglio, Natacha Lubtchansky and Susanna Sarti, under the title Dipingere l'Etruria. Le riproduzioni delle pitture etrusche di Augusto Guido Gatti, Osanna Edizioni 2017. The numerical data presented in Icar are linked to the catalogue of the book.
The recording was done by Annick Fenet, with the support of the ANR CAECINA (Contacts et Acculturation dans l’Étrurie Classique : Images, Notions, Artefacts) of the Ecole Normale Superieure, directed by Vincent Jolivet.
